Friday Developmental - 15th March 2013

Our leprachaun prints and our class collage rainbow!
It's St. Patricks day on Sunday, and this week Mrs Derrick has been talking about Irish things. We have done St Patricks themed maths, language and watched a clip about Irish dancing on our Interactive TV from youtube. We finished our St. Patricks day theme with some a super-sized collage rainbow, that we all created together, complete with pots of gold hanging from it. This is now proudly displayed on our wall inside Room 7.

Taylah's leprachaun print
During developmental, we made our own Leprachauns, using our handprint. We decorated it with a smiling face, a green hat and a pot of gold to take home for our families. We also created our own collage mini-rainbow and Mrs Derrick added pots of gold to the bottom of them.

If you ever see a rainbow - try to find the bottom of it, as a leprachaun may have just left a pot of gold at the bottom of it!

Week 6 Published Work

We have been writing stories describing who is in our families. Here is our published work that we took home to share in Week 6. Isn't it fantastic?

Duffy Theatre Performance

Duffy and his younger brother Scruffy.
Today our school was lucky enough to have Duffy Theatre perform for us. The actors did a fantastic performance and told us how important it was to learn to read, and that its ok to know how to read and write words in other languages as well.
In our classroom, we have children who can understand and speak other languages such as Samoan, Maori and Chinese.
