Visiting the Aranui ELC

Today we had our first visit of 2014 to the Aranui Early Learning Centre which is right across the road from our school. Lueqis, Summah and Salem used to attend this kindy. We saw Janae who is starting in our class next week. Summah had fun doing Helen's hair. Lueqis played with his friend Tyler and the rest of our class's enjoyed playing outside on the equipment and doing some art.
We are looking forward to some children from the ELC who are visiting us next week with their teachers.

Out and About Week 3: Portsmouth Street Kindy

This weeks out and about was a walk to the Portsmouth Street kindergarten.
We walked from school on a beautiful spring-like winters day and spent some time playing and connecting with some more new friends.
We met the kindergarten's pet mice, Bubble and Squeak, were monkey's on their playground and joined in celebrating Drake's 5th birthday. We hope to have a small group from Portsmouth Street kindergarten visit us soon and also come back to visit to keep the connection strong.

Interaction between APS and local Early Learning Centres

Today Mrs Derrick visited some local pre-schools and kindy's around Aranui to take them some copies of our Aranui Primary Junior Learning News.
Lots of the teachers want to spend some time at our school as they can see the awesome work all of our children do at Aranui.

We are hoping to host some small groups from the local kindy's and pre-schools in Term 2 and go to visit them as well!

If you would like a copy of our learning news please email Mrs Derrick at e.derrick@aranui.school.nz and she will send you out this terms copy!
