Three Bear Maths

Toreka lined her yellow bears up.
Caleb had green to line up.

Today during maths we sorted our 3 bear family counters into different groups.
First we sorted them into colour groups, then lined them up according to size. Then we all chose a different group and counted them up.
We recorded a statement for each of our groups which you can read below.
Tua lined up his red bears.
Jasmine lined her blue bears around the circle.
Here is some of our discovering.

Learning about shapes!

We have been learning about shapes in numeracy.

Last week we went on a treasure hunt around the school and found lots of shapes all around us including squares, circles, triangles, spheres, cylinders, cubes and cones.

Here are some cones near where the painters were.
We found a big Cube (Container!)

Our basketball hoop has a circle and a square.
The hopscotch is made up of squares.

Our playground has a huge cylinder-shaped tunnel.
David found a triangle shape in the ladder.
This bike wheel is a circle.
